Andrew Peter Nelson (December 1,1856 - April 4, 1918) of Zion, Illinois married Anna [Annie] Holmquist (September 6, 1863 - October 24, 1933) who was born near Älmhult, Sweden. Andrew was from Degerfors Sweden where he was a boyhood friend of John Larson who married Christina M. Ericsson in America. Andrew and Anna were married on December 23, 1890 in Escanaba, Michigan. Anna went to or arrived in America April 4, 1882. They lived in Escanaba for some years and then moved to Chicago. In 1896 they moved from Chicago to Stark County, Indiana, near Grovertown and bought some farm land across the road from Andrew's brother, John. Andrew farmed this land until 1906 when the the farm was sold and the family moved to Zion, Illinois where Peter got into construction work. John William Nelson (April 5, 1859 - January 22, 1919) married Emelia Christina Rapp (January 2, 1859 - December 31, 1944). John and Emelia were married in Chicago. In 1887 they moved to Chesterton, Indiana and in 1894 moved to Starke County where they bought forty acres of land from Andrew Uncapher (Sec. 24 - Oregon Twp.). They cleared and drained the land by cutting trees, pulling stumps and digging ditches, and, also, built their house, barn, and granary. A stone's throw from where the house stands they picked cranberries, and on the other side of the house they picked huckleberries which grew there in abundance. They raised pickles, onions, corn, some barley, oats, timothy, buckwheat, and planted a large garden. John was born in Degerfors, Värmland, Sweden. He came to the America in 1880 at the age of 21 and died in Grovertown, Starke County, Indiana in 1919.Emelia was born in Småland, Sweden. She came to America at the age of 12. There were four children in the Rapp family, Charles who married Ada Sundin, Emelia, Ernest who was a bachelor, and Ella who married an Anderson.John and Emilia had ten children, six girls and four boys, five of whom died in infancy. Rosa Emelia Nelson (November 21, 1896 - ?) born in Grovertown, Indiana, married Roy Arthur Broman (November13, 1896 - January 14, 1964). 1.3.4.1.Veral Mae Broman (July 11, 1924 -) of Bloomington, Indiana, married Rev. Earl W. Sharp. They moved to Culver, Indiana. 1.3.4.1.1. James Allen Sharp (December 25, 1949) of Richmond, Indiana. 1.3.4.2. Eric Nelson Broman (June 8, 1926 - June 8, 1926). Eric died at birth. 1.3.4.3. Ralph Anton Broman (January 26, 1928 -) of Mishawaka, Indiana married Barbara Ann Hunt of Anderson, Indiana.
