Assesing the reprussions of the sale of Sulatorp is difficult. At the risk of sounding melodramatc for Len the sale of Sulatorp meant permanently being cut off from Sweden, familyand friends. Len's retirement was lost for a mere $300 a month. Cut off from family and friend. Cut off from family locations not may kilometers away: Goteborg, Lindome, Bjorketorp. Research halted. Cut off from original documents of the Rinell family for Len's book. Cottage in the countryside of Sweden for $300 a month, lost. No home base in Europe. Kristofer, and other young family members and their decendants cut off from their heritage in Sweden. We had a chance to make our family a multi-cultural and multinational family. Gone. Our Swedish roots will fade away rapidly with each passing generation, and that needn't have been.
