Klaës Herbert Kafle was the first born son of Claës Wilhelm Jansson, a son whom Claës probably never knew.

Klaës was the son of Claës and young woman by the name of Tekla Ottilia Kafle. Claës and Tekla were not married.

Claës left his home in Tensta, Sweden, in August 1897 when he was 22 years old. He went to sea in September of the same year. Klaës was born the following year in March of 1898.

Many years later in the 1950s, Klaës hoped to meet his father and the rest of his family, but his father Claës, had died in 1955. Klaës did meeting his siblings Emanuel, Hedvig and Alma for the first time, but not his other siblings Eric, Gunnar, Bertil and Kerstin.. No one in the next generation knew of him as far as is known.

Klaës' aunt Hedvig Rinell wrote him a letter in 1961 and mentioned Klaës meeting his cousin, and Hedvig's son, Oscar.

In 2012 Birgitta Nordblom, the daughter of Klaës half-brother Bertil, discovered the family through her family research. In August 2012, Birgitta visited Maire (Klaës' adopted daughter) in her summer home in Tensta, Sweden. Birgitta borrowed letters and photos from Marie.
